HOW IT WORKS

Three steps. Admin, handled.

01

Upload your PDF statement

Use the original PDF from your online banking. You’ll see the page count and your remaining allowance before anything is converted.

02

Review the transactions

Check dates, descriptions, amounts and balances in an editable table. Fix, add or remove rows as needed.

03

Download CSV

Get your file in seconds. Need another format too? Download Excel, CSV or QBO from the same conversion at no extra cost.

When CSV is the right choice

Choose CSV when you are importing transactions into software rather than reading them yourself: accounting tools like Xero, Sage or Wave, budgeting apps, Google Sheets, or your own scripts. It is plain text, so it opens anywhere and travels well between systems.

A CSV built to import cleanly

The file is UTF-8 encoded with a byte-order mark so accented characters survive in Excel. Dates use the unambiguous ISO format (YYYY-MM-DD), and amounts and balances use a decimal point with no thousands separators, which is what import tools expect. Every field is quoted and escaped correctly, and descriptions that start like a spreadsheet formula are made safe so they can’t run when the file is opened.

Check the rows first

Before you download, every transaction appears in an editable preview. Fix a description, adjust an amount or add a missing row, and the CSV reflects your changes. When the statement has running balances, BankPDFExport checks them against the amounts and flags anything that doesn’t add up.

Statements that convert well

Use the original PDF downloaded from your online banking, with selectable text. Single amount columns and separate debit/credit columns are both supported, as are European and US number formats. Scanned images need OCR first. Put each account or currency in its own file.

THE USEFUL DETAILS

Common
questions.

Which columns are in the CSV?

Date, description, amount (negative for money out) and balance when the statement includes one.

Does it work with Xero?

Xero and most accounting tools accept a date/description/amount CSV. Map the columns during import; the exact steps depend on the tool.

How many pages does a conversion use?

Each page of a successfully converted PDF counts once. Failed conversions are free, and downloading extra formats doesn’t use more pages.

What if no transactions are found?

You won’t be charged any pages, and you’ll see a message explaining why, for example a scanned PDF without selectable text.
