HOW IT WORKS

Three steps. Admin, handled.

01

Upload your PDF statement

Use the original PDF from your online banking. You’ll see the page count and your remaining allowance before anything is converted.

02

Review the transactions

Check dates, descriptions, amounts and balances in an editable table. Fix, add or remove rows as needed.

03

Download Excel

Why convert a bank statement to Excel?

Banks send statements as PDFs because they are easy to read and hard to change. That is the problem when you need to categorise spending, reconcile an account, prepare figures for an accountant, or build a budget. Copying rows by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. A converter reads the transaction table for you so you can start working with the numbers straight away.

What the Excel file contains

Each transaction becomes a row with a real Excel date, the full description as text, and the amount and running balance as numbers, not text that looks like numbers. Debits are negative and credits are positive, so SUM and pivot tables work immediately. The heading row is frozen, filters are switched on, and column widths are set so the sheet is readable the moment it opens.

Review before you download

Statement layouts vary between banks, so every conversion opens in an editable preview first. Compare it with your original, fix any cell, add a missed row or delete a stray one. If the statement shows balances, BankPDFExport checks that the amounts add up and warns you when something doesn’t match.

Which statements work

Any PDF statement with selectable text and a transaction table: date, description, and either a single amount column or separate debit and credit columns, with or without a balance. European and US number formats are both recognised, including parentheses and trailing minus signs for negative amounts. Scanned or photographed statements need OCR first, and password-protected files must be unlocked before uploading.

THE USEFUL DETAILS

Common
questions.

Is it free to try?

Yes. Every account gets 10 pages free each month with no card required, which covers a typical monthly statement.

Will my dates be correct?

Dates are read as day/month/year by default. If your bank uses month/day/year, choose that before converting. If a statement leaves out the year, you can enter it.

Can I also get CSV or QuickBooks from the same statement?

Yes. After one conversion you can download Excel, CSV and QBO without using more pages.

Is my statement stored?

No. The PDF is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes, and transactions are only kept in temporary memory while you review them.
